Frequently Asked Questions
What is the process for entering into an Aged Care facility?
There are four facts you need to understand before you move into a Low Care (Hostel). First of all you need to be assessed by the ACAT Team of nurses to see if you qualify for Low or High care. Second, you need to find out how much the accommodation bond is for the facility, each facility is different, contact Annie on 4862 8555 for more details. Thirdly, your daily care fee, which is the amount you are charged each day for all your meals & care. Fourthly, in some cases you may pay an income tested fee depending on your financial position.
Respite, what does this mean?
Anthem caters for temporary relief to those who are either being cared for by a family member full time, convalescing after Hospital and not ready to go home or couples, one being the carer, needs a break. The person requiring respite must be assessed by the ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) Nurses for Low or High care. This enables them to come into respite on the Government subsidised daily care fee (at present $43.22). If no ACAT assessment can be done in time, or not eligible for an assessment, there is private respite. Please phone Annie for more information on 4862 8555.
